Boredom leads to creativity. Unfortunately, I don't have an off camera flash yet and I didn't want to drive back to the unit to nab the work one and gain potential harassment by people I don't know. Figured I'd keep it military-esque with the woobie (which still reeks of Afghanistan - never realized HOW bad it smelled until I was in clean air again). Definitely reshooting once I have my flash and 5D MkII.

This is the gun I obtained my Concealed Carry license on. Very comfortable in my little hands and a breeze to shoot.

How do you like it shooting wise? I've never fired an HK before. I have shot some pretty cool other guns though. My grandpa was in WWII, and had a berretta 32 he kept under his napsack in the trenches of Italy. He also brought back a German Luger artillery issue pistol that he happened upon over there. Shooting those old guns so full of history and knowing they had seen action in the hands of my grandpa was something quite special for me. I'm also quite fond of my Taurus Tracker just because it's so fun and feels good in the hand.

I haven't shot it since July of last year, but I absolutely love it. It's comfortable and I haven't had any malfunctions with it (yet).

Those sound amazing, you're lucky! I don't think either of my grandfathers have weapons from the war since one is Navy and the other is Air Force.

How are Taurus'? I had a moment of weakness and impulse-bought a PT140 at a gun sale last July. >.>

My aunt inherited them when he passed and I cleaned them up for her and made sure they were in working order: [link]. She doesn't know much about guns, but they were sentimental to her, because he used to tell her all his war stories when she was little. They had been wrapped up in his dresser drawer for 40 years before that. The berretta fired right out of the gate, even though it had a lot of dirt and grime built up in the internals. The luger looked a lot cleaner, but it needed some careful oiling and massaging to get the stiffness out of it before it would cycle properly again. I was very careful during the whole process to not do anything that would change the aged finish that they've aquired over the years. As for Taurus, I haven't tried their auto pistols yet. My Tracker is a double action 357 mag wheel gun [link], and for what it is I love it. I guess I just have a soft spot for the ol cowboy action, and it just makes you feel like John Wayne or Dirty Harry whenever you pick it up. It is pretty smooth and the recoil is not bad at all for the cartridge size, but those 357mags really do report loud and tend to ring the ears a bit.

I do like this a lot, it seems almost like a spontaneous shot with a feel of planning if that makes any sense. The setup is great, and I bet the firearm is a lot of fun to shoot. Keep up the good work
