Saying Goodbye by tanikel perfectly captures what must be one of the most difficult moments in military service for a parent.

U.S. Army Spc. Sara Wakai bids farewell to her husband and son in front of the 55th Signal Company
(Combat Camera) company area at Fort Meade, Md., Oct. 21, 2013.  The Soldiers are deploying
to Afghanistan to support Special Operations during Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan to
capture, edit, and transmit high definition video and still imagery.  (U.S. Army photo by
Sgt. Kristina Truluck/Released)

I think that the image speaks for itself.  Wakai was one of my Soldiers until this team took her.
She's on her way to do some amazing things.

This picture caught my heart and almost made tears come to my eyes.
It's not about the composition, colours or any other technical aspect of this photo.
This is something far beyond all of this. It presents EMOTIONS.
It's hard for me to find images which would grasp my attention and chase me even after I turn off my PC.
This piece is not orginal or outstanding, it's something REAL and natural.
No fake, no posing...just the FEELINGS of three people, of a family which is separated
because of the war.
Usually men fight and leave their wives, but here we have an opposite situation.
The child's face expression and uneasy movements show
that subconsciously it knows that it's the moment of saying 'goodbye'
and the woman-soldier's husband looks so hopeless...

Overall, this picture of yours is very much expressive.
And because emotions are the main subject here, one can put aside the technical aspects.
